About Us

My name is Sabrina Trussell and I live with my family in beautiful Alabama. We moved here from Germany in 2018 and I started my DDR GSD breeding program in 2021. My first litter was a complete success! My girl, Gheera, gave birth to 10 healthy, smart, well-built, puppies.

At East German Shepherd Kennel Vom Laudenbach, our hobby is the German Shepherd dog, which as a friend and family member, is a main part of our daily life. Our goal is to preserve the pure DDR line of the German Shepherd dog for as long as possible. Our dogs (and the males chosen for mating) are tested for HD, ED, DM, they are fully AKC registered and are at least two years old.

Our dogs live with us as family members in the house, but they are also used to kennels. The dogs are with us all day, are well socialized, and they love to be taken everywhere. What is fascinating about them is their charisma, body structure, nature and their strong will. The DDR Shepherd dog often takes significantly more time to mature then others. We strive to breed healthy, strong-nerved, performance-related dogs that are suitable for dog sports as well as for the family.

Puppies from our breeding program are only given to capable and loving hands. We breed dogs with a balanced nature and absolute family loyalty. We want our puppies to have a long, healthy and happy life with their humans. Therefore, if you choose a puppy from us, you have to consider that the German Shepherd is a working dog and therefore it definitely needs training, structure and a job.

Gheera is a medium size female from East German / DDR bloodlines. She was bred by Lindsay Chlopek at Granville German Shepherds in Illinois and is owned, trained and handled by Sabrina Trussell at East German Shepherd Kennel Vom Laudenbach in North Alabama.


Gheera is a high energy female, with a strong nose, good food and toy drives, and high possession. She is very social (if she likes you) and she bonds strongly to her handler. She is a high alerting and protective female.


Gheera enjoys Scent Work and Obedience as much as she enjoys a good ball playing session.

Atari is a large size male from East German / DDR bloodlines. He was bred by Lori Lambert at Vom Stamm Steinsdorf Kennel in Louisiana and is owned, trained and handled by Sabrina Trussell at East German Shepherd Kennel Vom Laudenbach in North Alabama.


Atari is a medium energy male with an incredibly calm, "human loving" personality with a strong food and prey drive. He is very social and loves every human being. Atari enjoys obedience and spending time with his people.

Our Puppies

At East German Shepherd Vom Laudenbach kennel, our puppies are born and raised in our home. In the first 8 - 10 weeks that they are with us, we begin the socialization process by exposing them to as much as possible! This includes: children, other animals, other dogs, collar and leash, being handled by people outside our family, and so much more.


We begin feeding solid food to our puppies at three weeks old and then transition to a raw food diet. All puppies are de-wormed three times, receive their first vaccinations, microchip, are given a health test at eight weeks old and are fully AKC registered!

  • How much does a puppy cost?

    Please contact me directly, either by email or by phone.

  • Do you offer a health guarantee?

    No. Our puppies are from verified parents. As we begin socializing the puppies, we make sure they don't jump or climb too much. As we transition the puppies to solid foods, we put them on a raw food diet.


    When you bring the puppy home, it is up to you to ensure that your puppy's bones are not overworked, that you are providing a nutritious and healthy diet and that your puppy is raised in a healthy manner.

  • Will you send your puppies abroad?

    Yes, under certain conditions. For more information contact me directly.

  • Can the puppy stay with you a little longer should I need more time?

    Yes. Your puppy can stay with us until 12 weeks old. However, you will be charged for food and vet expenses.

  • What happens if I can't keep the puppy or can't get along with it? What should I do?

    In this case, as the breeder, I always have the first right of acceptance. If you decide to give the puppy back in the first 72 hours, I will send you your money back, minus the deposit. 


    No refunds will be given after 72 hours. However, should I find a new family right away, you will get your money back minus the deposit as soon as the new family has brought the puppy home.

  • Can you train my puppy for me?

    No. We don't train the pups. However, I can help you find a good trainer in your area.
